Kenya Classic 8 days

Day 1  Arrive Nairobi  
Welcome to Kenya! Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you have time for lunch at the hotel before traveling into the suburbs of Karen to visit the Karen Blixen Museum. After time to stroll around the beautiful grounds, enjoy a fun visit to the Giraffe Center where you have the opportunity to feed the Rothschild giraffes. Later this evening, enjoy dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Nairobi Safari Park

Day 2   Nairobi-Samburu
Your journey takes you north to delightful Samburu National Reserve. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. The Uaso Nyiro River cuts through the reserve, attracting a rich variety of wildlife in search of water and shade. Leopard are frequently spotted in Samburu, so keep a look out! Samburu Serena

Day 3   Samburu  
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives today. Of particular interest in Samburu are the indigenous species such as the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy's zebra (look for the "oversized" ears) and the gerenuk which stands on its hind legs to feed from the top branches of bushes and trees. Day 4   Samburu-Aberdares  
Drive south today into the Aberdare mountain range for a night at a tree hotel. After settling in, relax on the verandah and watch for animals as they come to the waterhole to drink and to scratch for salt. Mountain Lodge

Day 5   Aberdares-Lake Nakuru
Your journey today takes you into the Lakes region. An afternoon game drive under the shade of acacia trees in Lake Nakuru National Park may reveal lesser flamingoes along the lake shore, along with Rothschild giraffe, black rhino, dik dik and much more. Sarova Lion Hill

Day 6   Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara
Leave the Rift Valley today and enter the Masai Mara, Kenya's most famous reserve. Have your bird and mammal checklist ready this afternoon, as you will surely complete most of your game-viewing list while in the Masai Mara. Mara Sopa Lodge

Day 7  Masai Mara
On morning and afternoon game drives today, you will likely spot a wide variety of game including zebra, gazelle, impala and hyena. Birdlife is prolific in the Mara - watch for the colorful lilac-breasted roller. Mara Sopa Lodge

Day 8   Masai Mara-Depart
After breakfast, return to Nairobi where day rooms are available until your departure this evening on the overnight flight to London. Nairobi Safari Club
