Day 1 Arrive Nairobi LD
Upon arrival in Nairobi this morning
you will be met and transferred to
your hotel. After lunch, travel out
to the suburbs of Karen to visit the
former home of Karen von Blixen, now
a museum. After time to walk through
the house (which still contains some
of Ms. Blixen's original possessions)
take the short drive to the Giraffe
Center. Here, come eye-to-eye with
the graceful Rothschild giraffes and
feed them from an elevated platform.
Later tonight, enjoy dinner at the
Carnivore Restaurant.

Day 2 Nairobi-Aberdares BLD
This morning your drive takes you
into the Aberdares mountain range
for a night at a tree hotel. Relax
on the verandah of your lodge and
wait as animals come to the lit waterhole
to drink water and to scratch for
salt.

Day 3 Aberdares-Sweetwaters BLD
Drive to the 24,000 acre Sweetwaters
Game Reserve, with views of towering
Mt. Kenya in the background. This
private reserve is home to the Jane
Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which
you will have an opportunity to visit
before an afternoon game drive. The
Big Five are all present in the reserve.

Day 4 Sweetwaters-Mt. Kenya

A short road transfer takes you to
William Holden's former retreat set
at the foot of majestic Mt. Kenya.
The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy
the 110-acre setting. Perhaps a round
of golf or relaxation by the pool?

Day 5 Mt. Kenya-Masai Mara
BLD
Transfer to the airstrip for your
light aircraft flight to the Masai
Mara and your tented camp set along
the banks of the Mara River. After
lunch, enjoy game viewing in Kenya's
most famous national reserve. Perhaps
best known for its black-maned lions,
the Mara is also home to all the Big
Five as well as a wide variety of
plains game like zebra, wildebeest,
topi and impala.

Day 6 Masai Mara BLD
During your two full days in the Mara,
you might want to take an optional
hot air balloon safari one morning.
As you glide above the plains, you
have a unique perspective on the game
activities below. Bird enthusiasts
will thrill at the prospect of spotting
some of the 500 species of birds recorded
in the Mara. Watch for cheetah in
the rolling grassland, as well as
warthog, kongoni, and jackal - among
the 95 mammal species recorded in
the Mara.

Day 7 Masai Mara BLD
On morning and afternoon game drives,
you will surely see any animals that
you might not have already checked
off your list. The Mara is home to
some of the most abundant wildlife
in Kenya!

Day 8 Masai Mara-Depart BD
After an early morning game drive,
a light aircraft flight takes you
back to Nairobi where day rooms are
available until your departure this
evening on the overnight flight home.
